at home – dvd, lovefilm
will smith is alone in the world with his dog and everyone has turned into feral, sub-human, vampires
this was pretty good. i’d been dreading watching it because i couldn’t deal with the thing about the dog. but it looked pretty decent so eventually i worked up enough courage and then popped it onto our lovefilm list.
not that we were expecting it to arrive! lovefilm have been a bit rubbish lately. not only are they not giving us our high priority choices but they’re not even giving us our medium choices anymore! so we were a bit surprised when this came – which was the same with hancock.
anyway, the film. charlotte enjoyed it quite a lot. she said it was very tense and quite scary in places.
we both hated the bit with the dog, though, which made us sad.
apart from the dog i liked it. i didn’t mind the differences between the book too much – although, i was a bit confused when things took a different turn here and there. but yeah, its been long enough since the film has come out so i’ve gotten used to all the deviations from the book. i think if i’d seen it when it just came out i’d probably have been quite dissapointed with some of the differences.
old willy did well too. especially the bit with the dog. he did that well. i managed to not think too much about whether smith made a plausable doctor or not. he has the action man thing down pat, of course, and so did all that stuff well.
he also did the loneliness thing very well.
so yeah, this was pretty good.
cast:
will smith, of course
a german shepard
Like this one better and made it to the end.
